What is FEMM?

FEMM (Fertility Education & Medical Management) is a fertility awareness method that leverages observable biomarkers to indicate hormonal activity throughout the cycle and identify patterns that provide information about a woman’s fertility and overall health.

FEMM is a way for you to learn about healthy reproductive hormone function, how to interpret biomarkers and how to chart your cycle, empowering you to make your own health and fertility decisions.

Where Observations Become Insights

FEMM prioritizes cervical mucus as the primary biomarker to reflect hormone activity, but it also leverages testing for a secondary biomarker called LH (luteinizing hormone), and has parameters for what cycle health looks like.

Learning how to chart with FEMM provides you with data to help you gain a deeper understanding of your hormones and your health.

  • FEMM education is for all women interested in learning more about their hormones and interested in charting their cycle – no matter their age or reproductive age.

  • Here is a brief breakdown of the material covered each session:

    Session 1
    Learn how hormones influence health and how to chart your cycle. 

    Session 2
    Understand the phases of the cycle and what certain observations may indicate about health.  

    Session 3
    Know the principles of FEMM Family Planning and how to relate cycle biomarkers to your fertility.

  • My style is less lecture, more conversation. Yes, we go through valuable and comprehensive information when we meet each session so that you are equipped with the knowledge needed to practice the method and understand your hormones, but I also want to know how I can best help you.

    The benefit of meeting 1:1 in a live format is that I welcome any and all questions during sessions and want to meet you were you are in terms of previous knowledge and experience.

  • Currently, sessions are offered via Google Meet and communication outside of the sessions is available via email.

  • Absolutely! They are encouraged to sit in on the sessions, especially for Session 3 where we discuss in detail the FEMM Family Planning guidelines, but all of the information taught throughout all three sessions is super valuable to husbands and fiancés.

  • Some apps are based on the data of your previous cycle, not what you observe and chart daily during the current cycle.

    I teach you how to chart what you see, not what you expect to see, which is going to provide the biggest insight into your hormonal activity. It leverages your actual biomarkers so you can recognize signs of health unique to you in real time.
